Serving the Underserved

For our LIBS 656: User Services and Programming, we were asked to identify an underserved population and propose a new service, resource, or program to attract those users to the library. Again, my focus was on older adults and seniors with poor computer/digital literacy skills, and my proposed service was basic computer skills and digital literacy instruction. This project includes a description of my target audience and the specific barriers and challenges they encounter; justification for my proposed program; a description of my proposed program and its goals and objectives; and a marketing plan detailing my message, my methods, and an example of a marketing piece (flyer).
