Grant Proposal
For our LIBS 674: Management and Leadership in Library and Information Studies course, we were asked to write a grant proposal for a new program or service based on an analysis of our community’s needs. From my experience working with adults as an Information Services Assistant, I have identified the need for basic computer skills and digital literacy instruction for adults, older adults, and seniors, and an analysis of the Handley library’s service area revealed that seniors are a large and growing segment of Winchester’s population. And so my grant proposal is for funding for basic computer skills and digital literacy instruction for seniors. The proposal includes an overview of the service community, a description of the proposed project, a description of the target audience and the impact the project will have on them, a marketing plan, the objectives of the project and how these objectives will be assessed, a project timeline, a budget overview, a line-item budget, and a plan for the sustainability of the project after the funding cycle is complete.
